Elemental Eat - 食SHI

For my graduation project, I aimed to encapsulate my philosophy towards life. This project delves into the essential relationship between food and bodily function, drawing insights from ancient Chinese wisdom as documented in the 'Yellow Emperor's Internal Canon'. Utilizing principles from Chinese medicine, I explored how different foods cater to the specific needs of our body's five organs, aligned with the five elements of Jin, Mu, Shui, Huo, and Tu.

To enhance comprehension, I created icons inspired by oracle bone inscriptions of these elements, culminating in a logo design that creatively integrates them into a unified symbol resembling the Chinese character '食', symbolizing diet. This modern brand bridges Chinese dietary traditions with contemporary health awareness, aiming to inspire young people to prioritize their well-being. Throughout the design process, I focused on modernizing and making accessible these cultural elements to a global audience, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of Chinese medicine in maintaining health.

For the exhibition, I innovatively designed card games and food blind bags to enhance audience engagement and enjoyment. My objective was to ensure widespread comprehension of my brand's concept while leaving a lasting impression. The five distinct colors categorize the food into elemental groups, facilitating an interactive learning experience through taste and sight. This approach not only engages the audience in a fun-filled activity but also effectively communicates the essence of my work.
